Essential Websites for a Writer
(Many of the blogs also have websites, accessible through the blogs. Those are not necessarily listed here.)
-
Absolute Write — One of the best networking sites
- Agent Query — A place to find agents
- AgentQuery Connect — Another networking site–the one I’m on the most
-
How to Write a Book Now – Fabulous website with information to help during the entire writing process. Love it!
- Preditors and Editors — A place to see who is legit and who isn’t
-
Publisher’s Marketplace — $20 a month for premium membership–if you can afford it, do it
-
Query Tracker — I highly recommend premium membership of $25 annually. Great site.
-
The Editorium — A company that sells macros. Annual subscription $30
-
University of Chicago Press — all kinds of information: Manuscript preparation guidelines, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.
-
Writer Beware — Like P&E a place to check out agents/publishers. Be sure to check out blog.
-
Writer’s Market — Another subscription service with good rep. I’ve stuck with P&E and PM
